Lexington Man Killed in Intersection Accident
Seventy-three-year-old Lexington resident John Herkamp lost his life in a that occurred at the intersection of Clays Mills Road and Wyndham Hills Drive in Lexington on June 12, according to a report by the Lexington Herald-Leader.
Reports from Lieutenant Andrew Daugherty of the Lexington Police Department indicated that Herkamp’s vehicle, a red Ford Mustang, collided with a silver Buick. Herkamp was trying to turn left onto Wyndham Hills Drives, while the female Buick driver was driving up Clays Mills Road.
Daugherty said rescue crews started responding to the accident at around 7:30 p.m.
Herkamp succumbed to his mortal injuries at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. The female driver was brought to the University of Kentucky hospital for treatment of her leg injuries; her injuries were not stated to be life-threatening.
