Girl Sustained Wounds in Lexington Festival Zip Lining Accident
An 11-year-old girl fell from a great height on May 10 while zip lining at the annual Crawfish Festival at the Red Mile Race Track in Lexington, Kentucky. She is currently confined to the University of Kentucky pediatric emergency room, with doctors observing her physical condition and conducting tests to ensure she didn’t acquire serious brain injuries, WKYT reported on May 10.
Police authorities said the accident occurred because the girl’s harness broke. She landed on her back in the grass after an 18-foot fall. The girl was conscious after the fall and told emergency medical respondents about the pain in her legs and stomach. Her injuries were serious but not fatal, medical personnel said.
