Actor Tracy Morgan Critically Injured by Sleepless Truck Driver
45-year-old actor Tracy Morgan, best known for his roles on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, has been left critically injured after the limo bus he was riding in was hit by a truck driver that had not slept in over 24 hours, the Huffington Post reports.
On June 7, Morgan was riding along the New Jersey Turnpike in a Mercedes limo bus with several of his friends when they were hit by a Wal-Mart tractor trailer. The truck was driven by Kevin Roper, 35, who was found to be in criminal violation of New Jersey law by not sleeping for an excess of 24 hours.
Roper is being charged with one count of vehicular homicide and three counts of injury by auto. The accident caused the death of 63-year-old comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.
Our entire legal team at Wilson & McQueen PLLC is deeply saddened by this tragedy. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of those hurt in this accident.
